What to do About a Cover?

Every book has to have a cover. You know that of course, and we all know people do judge a book by its cover.

Amazon's Createspace provides a choice of cover templates, including a blank one on which you can publish a cover of your own design. You've probably already given some thought about what you would like on the front of your book.

I recently designed and created the cover on the right for my friend Chris Pocock, and I've designed several others.

Be careful of copyright laws if you randomly download a picture off the Internet. You can either go to creativecommons.com and search for something that is royalty-free or purchase a royalty-free picture from one of the recognized vendors.

The Back Cover is also Important.

Have you ever thought about what you might put on the back part of your cover? (Print books). Most people don't until they get to the point where it becomes necessary, and it can be just as important as the front cover.

Do you want to put reviews on it? How do you get reviews? How do you know they'll be good?

I can help answer all those questions.
